“Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”
~ World Health Organization Constitution (1948)
Naturopathic Medicine is a distinct system of medicine that blends modern scientific knowledge with traditional and natural forms of medicine to support the healing power of the body. The objective is to provide comprehensive health care by treating the underlying cause of disease and not merely attempt to manage individual symptoms.
Naturopathic Doctors (NDs) treat the whole person, with a focus on disease prevention and halting progression. We are trained in a range of modalities to effectively manage your health concerns. NDs can work as primary health care providers, in collaboration with your medical doctor and/or other health care providers, or can provide adjunctive support to current medical care.
We use objective lab tests, a thorough health history and hands-on assessments to provide an overall picture of your health. Using an evidence-informed combination of Clinical Nutrition, Botanical (Plant) medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture and Homeopathy we create a comprehensive, individualized plan to help you achieve your health, wellness and performance goals.
Dr. Yu has also achieved the Standard for Therapeutic Prescribing and for Intravenous Infusion Therapy and is able to prescribe bioidentical hormones, desiccated thyroid hormone and provide nutrient infusions and injections.
Naturopathic Doctors in Ontario undergo a rigorous 4-year post-graduate program at an accredited institution and must successfully pass Board exams prior to receiving licensing. Naturopathic Doctors in Ontario are regulated by the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO).
