“Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”
~ World Health Organization Constitution (1948)
Naturopathic Medicine is a primary health care system that is based on not only identifying and treating the root cause of illness, but also preventing illness from developing- whenever possible.
Standard training for licensed Naturopathic Doctors (ND) in Ontario and other regulated districts include Clinical Nutrition, Botanical Medicine, Acupuncture and Asian Medicine, Homeopathy and Psychology related to Health & Wellness. After completing their medical program, NDs will often continue to seek out further knowledge in other fields related to medicine and healing, in order to better serve their clients and patients.
NDs use their skills and knowledge to investigate the root causes of diseases and create a treatment plan to improve health and optimize wellness.
NDs are able to order standard and specialized medical lab tests and
work alongside other health care providers such as medical doctors, dentists, chiropractors, registered massage therapists, etc. to ensure that the care you are receiving is safe and effective.
